Weather

I'm going to try to put a little weather note on the last post of the day.  Once the garden is going, we should try to keep track of watering information, as well.

April 2 max: 8.2 min: -2.1 rain: 0.7 mm
April 3 max: 5.4 min: -3.6
April 4 max: 12.8 min: -0.8
April 5 max: 3.6 min: 0.2 rain: 1.9 mm
April 6 max: 10.7 min: -2.9
April 7 max: 12 min: -4.3
April 8 max: 14.4 min: -3.1
April 9 max: 17.9 min: -0.7
April 10 max: 11.5 min: 0.8 rain: 1 mm
April 11 max: 10.4 min: -0.4

It's been feeling like maple syrup weather.  Nice to look at the data and see that it agrees.  Hopefully the snow column is finished.  The first year that we lived here, it snowed on May 19th.  At that moment I swore that I would try to live here long enough to "collect" instances of snowfall in every month.  May continues to be the latest.

We tapped our tree one year.  We have only about 10 square metres of backyard, but in it there is a sugar maple.  In a fit of over-the-top canuckness we tapped it and got a good cup, maybe cup and a half, of delicious, tastes-just-like-the-stuff-you-can-buy-in-the-store-without-melting-your-kitchen-for-three-hours-to-make-it maple syrup. Good times, good times.
